Tom Silva, a general contractor for "This Old House" TV program, said NASA engineers are overcomplicating the matter.
"The hacksaw is way over the top — too many engineers involved," said Silva, who added that a simple wood block with sandpaper wrapped around it would be the way to go. Wouldn't that create thousands of little pieces of SPACE JUNK, which could slam into the next Shuttle mission and perhaps cause -- a PROBLEM? They didn't need it anyway.
