The problem is Halloween turned from a reasonably innocent festival into an industry, and when it turned into an industry it lost its much of charm and sense of humor. (Part of it too was the BOOMERS remaking it into another warped self-conscious excuse to relive their childhood.) Hence the beauty of little kids dressing up in weird costumes was replaced with intolerance and finger pointing, as with much that becomes an industry.
Can't we just forget about politics and let the kids exercise their imaginations? [I]ts sometimes-dark imagery - and the gory movies and masks that go along with it - mean that some Christian and Muslim families keep their kids at home that day. I think this merits a special THANK YOU to DR. EVIL!!!!!
