James Mangold takes a perfectly decent moralistic Western from 1957,
3:10 to Yuma, and turns it into something resembling an episode of Deadwood. Why, I wonder, does he feel the need to put his mark on it, like a dog on a fire hydrant? Seeing as how he's in the fillum biz doesn't that question answer itself?
