The only "solution" to the "problem" of exploding professional college sports' coaching salaries is to thoroughly professionalize the teams (i.e., pay the players) and completely delink them from any notion they have anything to do with academics. Then they would become self-supporting profit centers owned by the universities for the purpose of helping finance an inferior education.

Keep in mind too professional college sports is a glorified subsidiary of BIGMEDIA, and anything even partly owned by BIGMEDIA will have its priorities skewed.

And if we know the paper of the SUPER BOWL AD BOWL this new annual survey will backfire as it will provide the impetus for an increased "arms race" in salaries.
