Recent interpretations of our previous statement notwithstanding, it is not the policy or stance of this company that it doesn’t matter whether a book sold as nonfiction is true. S. at 5:10 p.m. And now, needless to say, the book biz is doing its version of the news hacks' mea culpa headbanging routine, which raises the question: would the publishiong whizzes have problems with liars if they read their manuscripts?
