The Detroit Lions can't even escape cartoons. In tonight's episode of "The Simpsons," Moe the bartender was trying to drum up interest in betting on pigeon racing.
Pigeon racing? Moe explained to a young and sometimes skeptical Bart Simpson that it is possible to bet on anything that moves.
“Even the Detroit Lions?” asked Bart.
Moe replied,”Hey, [SIC!] layoff [SIC!] Detroit. Them people is living in ‘Mad Max’ times."
Which began only a decade before HUGE DOUGHNUT-EATING ZILLIONAIRE TIMES.
