If "50,000 stores could close without any effect on consumer choice", and "200,000 stores may close in 2009, compared with a record 160,000 in 2008", what does that say for retailing's future?
Maybe if it hadn't opened so many unneeded stores in the first place while neglecting underserved customers thanks to long held prejudices it would have a better future.
